PokéPath Best Teams for Every Stage (Part 2)
This article is reprinted from pokepath.io. Original article: https://pokepath.io/strategy/best-teams-part2
Hi everyone, this is POKEPATH.IO. This is Part 2 of our PokéPath TD Best Teams series. In this article, we cover Route 2-1, 2-2, and 2-3, featuring the legendary beasts RAIKOU, ENTEI, and SUICUNE.
If you're looking for Route 1 team compositions, please check out Part 1 of the Best Teams series.
Our definition of "best team" means a lineup that requires no repositioning — simply place your Pokémon and clear the stage. Some routes use healing Pokémon to increase error tolerance, so it doesn't mean you won't lose any HP at all, but your health will stay near full throughout.
Beginner Tips (Read This First)
If your goal is a no-damage clear, the key prerequisites are:
Note: The PokéPath TD Best Teams series is based on version 1.2.7 of PokéPath TD.
2-1 No-Damage Best Team (vs RAIKOU)

For Route 2-1, we choose NOIVERN as the Pokémon for DITTO to copy. The Pokémon used in this map don't go beyond what was already used to clear Route 1. Therefore, if you followed our recommended lineup for Route 1, you can easily clear all of Route 2 without training any additional Pokémon.
Team Roster and Roles
- NOIVERN + DITTO (copying NOIVERN) – Main single-target DPS. Due to the terrain layout, NOIVERN's damage output is extremely high on this map, making it the primary damage dealer against RAIKOU.
- CORSOLA – Core AOE slow support. Also helps break invisibility through AOE splash damage.
- MARACTUS – Main AOE DPS for grass tiles. Provides excellent coverage in the grass areas.
- ABSOL – Secondary single-target DPS for grass tiles. High critical rate helps burst down enemies.
- WHIMSICOTT – Healing support that increases your margin for error.
- HONCHKROW – Used to clear invisible enemies. Avoid using GRUMPIG here because its attack range is too small to cover the left corridor.
- CHARIZARD – Secondary DPS for ground tiles.
- FLYGON – Secondary DPS for mountain tiles.
- LILLIGANT – Secondary DPS for grass tiles.
Summary: When RAIKOU appears, it will randomly choose one of two paths to advance. But don't worry — no matter which path RAIKOU takes, this lineup can easily clear Route 2-1 without any repositioning. NOIVERN will teach RAIKOU a lesson.
2-2 No-Damage Best Team (vs ENTEI)

Route 2-2 features ENTEI as the final boss. This map has a large water area in the center, with grass tiles surrounding it. The strategy focuses on utilizing grass-type Pokémon effectively while maintaining strong coverage on all terrain types.
Team Roster and Roles
- FLYGON + PIDGEOT – Secondary DPS for mountain tiles. Position them to cover the upper areas of the map.
- CORSOLA – Core AOE slow support. Essential for slowing down enemies and breaking invisibility.
- LILLIGANT – Main DPS for grass tiles. Excellent coverage in the grass areas surrounding the water.
- MARACTUS + ABSOL – Main AOE and single-target DPS combo. MARACTUS provides AOE damage while ABSOL delivers high burst damage.
- NOIVERN – Main single-target DPS for mountain tiles. High damage output against ENTEI.
- GRUMPIG – Used to clear invisible enemies. Essential for dealing with stealth units.
- HONCHKROW – Secondary anti-invisibility support and DPS.
- WHIMSICOTT – Healing support that provides safety margin.
Summary: If you've read our previous Best Teams series, you'll notice this stage still uses our commonly recommended Pokémon. Similarly, ENTEI will randomly choose one of two paths to advance. But no matter which path it takes, this lineup can easily clear Route 2-2 without any repositioning.
2-3 No-Damage Best Team (vs SUICUNE)

This stage heavily tests your AOE damage output before the boss fight, so you can't use too many single-target DPS Pokémon.
No-Damage Team Before SUICUNE (Wave 1-99)
- NOIVERN + DITTO (copying NOIVERN) – Main single-target DPS. Position them to maximize hits on enemies.
- MARACTUS + EXCADRILL – Main AOE DPS. Place them on the central ground and grass tiles.
- PIDGEOT + FLYGON + CHARIZARD – Secondary DPS on mountain tiles.
- CORSOLA – Provides essential AOE slow.
- GRUMPIG – Handles invisibility. We recommend GRUMPIG because it can be placed on grass tiles to break stealth, allowing you to reveal SUICUNE's invisibility earlier.
- WHIMSICOTT – Healing support for safety.
This lineup can achieve a no-damage run from Wave 1 to 99 without repositioning.

The difference between the pre-boss and boss lineups is: reposition CHARIZARD and swap EXCADRILL for ABSOL to boost single-target damage. To demonstrate the strength of our PokéPath Best Teams series lineup, we clear the SUICUNE fight using only 9 Pokémon.
No-Damage SUICUNE Team (Wave 100)
- NOIVERN + DITTO (copying NOIVERN) – Main single-target DPS against SUICUNE.
- MARACTUS – Maintain AOE coverage on grass tiles.
- PIDGEOT + FLYGON – DPS on mountain tiles.
- CHARIZARD – Repositioned to ground tiles for better coverage.
- CORSOLA – Provides essential AOE slow.
- GRUMPIG – Handles invisibility. Placed on grass tiles to reveal SUICUNE's invisibility earlier.
- ABSOL – High burst single-target DPS. Swapped in for EXCADRILL to maximize damage against SUICUNE.
Summary: This is the best lineup for defeating SUICUNE: with proper positioning, you can clear the boss without taking any damage.
